Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional and organised Medical Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the practice. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment, contributing to the efficient delivery of patient care. The position is suitable for individuals with a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate must be able to work as part of a team as well as working autonomously. Hours will be rotational between 1 week of early (8.30- 1.30) and 1 week of late (1-6)
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to enquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with data protection regulations
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and processing correspondence
- Collect and process patient information, including insurance details and personal data
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy and organised at all times
- Support healthcare staff with administrative duties as required
Experience
- Previous office or administrative experience is highly desirable
- Experience working in a practice setting is advantageous but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in using office software programmes such as MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive information discreetly
