Finance Apprentice
Raytec are looking for a committed individual to join our busy Finance department as a Finance Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their skill set through hard work and dedication, while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Purpose of the Job:
· A structured apprenticeship programme with mentoring and support
· Opportunity to gain a recognised finance qualification (e.g., AAT)
· To develop your understanding of a finance team and those roles within it
· To process purchase ledger and assist on other accounting functions
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
· Management of the Purchase Ledger
· Posting all purchase invoices and credit notes
· Posting all credit card and expense claims
· Reconciling supplier statements
· Managing and preparing supplier payment runs
· Dealing with all supplier and inter departmental queries
· Expediting short or missing supplier deliveries with the purchasing department
· Reviewing supplier Non-Conformance Returns for credit notes
· Reviewing all non-manufacturing open purchase orders
· Assist with routine month end processes
· Assist with year-end audit preparation and other Ad-hoc audit requests
· Supporting other finance administration tasks as required
· Providing cross-functional support where required: Sales Ledger, Logistics
Essential:
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
· Willingness to learn and take initiative
Desirable:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above

Location:
The role of Finance Apprentice requires working from our office in Ashington Mon Fri. During term time you will attend Newcastle College on day release to complete your ongoing studies.
