Position Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and technically minded Remote Monitoring Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will remotely monitor equipment performance across our fleet, identify faults, and provide fast, effective resolutions to minimise downtime for our clients.
This is a 30-hour per week position, working Saturday and Sunday during the day, plus one weekday. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer support by troubleshooting issues remotely, communicating clearly with site teams, and escalating problems when required. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong problem-solving skills, technical aptitude, and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor remote systems to identify faults, issues, and performance concerns across the fleet.
- Carry out first-line diagnostics and troubleshooting to determine root causes.
- Resolve issues remotely wherever possible, using phone and video support to guide clients through solutions.
- Escalate unresolved or urgent issues to the appropriate internal teams including Aftersales, Breakdown Support, Service Management, or Technical teams.
- Identify recurring faults and report trends for further investigation and continuous improvement.
- Maintain clear communication with client site teams regarding downtime, ETAs, and issue updates.
- Respond promptly to client requests including timer changes, quiet hour updates, and system adjustments.
- Provide accurate handovers and updates at the end of each shift/day.
- Support additional operational tasks following training, including:
- Daily fuel call logs
- Installation check-in calls
- Pre-hire asset checks
- Pre-sales technical support and job specifications
- Contribute ideas and feedback to improve products, services, and internal processes.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach in all communications and interactions.
Skills & Experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure.
- Comfortable using remote monitoring software, video calls, and digital communication tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Customer service experience or technical support experience preferred.
- Experience in plant hire, generators, construction equipment, engineering, or a technical environment would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider teams.
