The Role
As an Apprentice HGV Driver, you'll work alongside our experienced transport and operations teams while completing your apprenticeship and HGV driver training.
We'll fund your training, including your HGV licence and Driver CPC, giving you everything you need to become a professional driver within our growing business.
Once qualified, you'll play a key role delivering and collecting generators, fuel tanks and associated equipment safely and efficiently across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the HGV Driver Apprenticeship programme.
- Attend all practical and classroom-based training.
- Work towards achieving your Category C and, where applicable, Category C+E licence.
- Learn safe loading, securing and transportation of equipment.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections.
- Deliver and collect equipment safely and professionally.
- Complete delivery documentation accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service on every site visit.
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies and transport legislation.
- Keep vehicles clean, safe and roadworthy by reporting defects promptly.
- Represent Generator Power professionally at customer sites.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for people with the right attitude rather than previous experience.
You'll be:
- Aged 18 or over.
- In possession of a full UK Category B driving licence.
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Reliable, punctual and dependable.
- Safety-focused with a professional attitude.
- Friendly with excellent communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to meet the demands of the transport operation.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence (Category B).
- Eligible to undertake an apprenticeship.
- Ability to pass the required HGV medical assessment.
- Good standard of English and Maths.
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme.
