Synergy Hire Ltd. is looking for a Customer Service Controller who understands the pace and pressure of plant operations.
This is not a generic office role. This position sits at the operational core of our business - coordinating field engineers, responding to breakdowns, protecting fleet availability, and keeping customers working.
If you’ve worked in plant hire, construction, fleet, service coordination, transport planning, or engineering support - and you understand that machine uptime equals customer trust, this role will suit you.
The Role – What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Allocating and scheduling jobs for mobile engineers to ensure rapid response to breakdowns.
- Managing incoming service calls and prioritising reactive and planned maintenance.
- Monitoring fleet availability and reducing machine downtime.
- Coordinating routine servicing, inspections, and statutory compliance documentation.
- Ensuring equipment certifications remain current and audit-ready.
- Maintaining accurate service records and job updates within internal systems.
- Communicating confidently with site managers, operators, engineers, and suppliers.
- Supporting the wider Service Team during peak operational periods.
You will be measured on efficiency, responsiveness, accuracy, and your ability to keep plant working safely and compliantly.
What We’re Looking For
We want someone who:
- Has experience within plant hire, construction equipment, fleet, engineering, transport, or service environments.
- Understands the urgency of breakdown response and customer impact.
- Can prioritise multiple jobs under pressure without losing accuracy.
- Communicates confidently with engineers and site-based customers.
- Has strong IT and data-entry skills.
- Demonstrates commercial awareness and understands that downtime costs money.
- Works proactively and takes ownership of problems.
