Flint House Police Rehabilitation is a registered Charity offering world class preventative and rehabilitative care for people in the police service. Located just outside Goring on Thames and set in 20 acres of ancient woodland, every year we treat over 3,500 police officers.
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Physiotherapist to join a multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality physiotherapy services across a diverse clinical caseload, including residential rehabilitation, outpatient care, and virtual rehabilitation within the Rehabilitation Department.
This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity cover)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver highly specialist physiotherapy assessments, treatments, and outcome evaluations for a diverse patient caseload, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care.
- Manage a predominantly musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and post-surgical caseload, with occasional involvement in rehabilitation for patients with general medical or neurological conditions.
- Actively maintain and further develop your own clinical and professional competencies, while also contributing to the learning and development of others through clinical supervision, mentoring, and supporting student placements as a clinical educator.
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with your job share partner to ensure consistent, high-quality care and continuity of service delivery.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients referred to Flint House, ensuring safe and effective clinical care.
- Critically evaluate treatment outcomes to inform clinical decision-making and ensure best practice approaches are maintained.
- Communicate effectively with patients to maximise their rehabilitation potential, promote self-management, and enhance understanding of their condition.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical records in accordance with departmental guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of patient education sessions at Flint House, including presentations such as Back School and Persistent Pain Management.
- Support the development of the wider team by contributing to in-service training for Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Therapists.
- Assist with public relations activities through education, presentations, and the promotion of Flint House to service users and relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in relevant postgraduate training and continuing professional development to maintain a high standard of clinical practice.
- Liaise with external healthcare providers and medical services to ensure continuity of care and appropriate referral pathways for patients.
- Support the clinical education of undergraduate and postgraduate Physiotherapy students through supervision and teaching.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies as outlined in the Health & Safety Policy.
Essential:
- BSc (hons) Physiotherapy
- Member of HCPC and CSP
- Clinical experience and confidence in the management of MSK/Orthopaedic conditions
- Excellent communicator; efficient, effective and diplomatic communication, both written and verbal
- Experience in supervision of junior staff / students
- Drive and enthusiasm for clinical excellence and clinical development within the whole team
- Discretion and recognition for the need for confidentiality
- Willing to be DBS checked
