Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Full Time Gardener to maintain and enhance our outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for horticulture and landscape maintenance, with some knowledge of gardening techniques and tools. The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing planting schemes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the overall aesthetic appeal of our grounds.
Responsibilities
- Planting, pruning, watering, fertilising, and mulching garden beds to promote healthy growth
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
- Maintaining lawns through mowing, edging, aerating, and fertilising on 5 acre plot
- Installing new plants, shrubs, trees, and landscape features as required
- Performing routine landscape maintenance tasks including weed control and pest management
- Monitoring plant health and diagnosing issues related to pests or disease
- Assisting with seasonal garden preparations and clean-up activities
- Ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and stored correctly after use
- Maintaining a large greenhouse and plants
- Additional odd jobs and maintenance for the family home and grounds (for example, painting a shed or fixing a fence)
- Maintaining swimming pool
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as secateurs, spades, rakes, and shovels
- Experience operating power tools including hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, and blowers
- Growing experience with various plants, shrubs, trees, and flowers or ability to research and learn
- Ability to perform landscape maintenance tasks efficiently while adhering to safety standards
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in garden aesthetics
- Physical fitness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Pay: From £25,000.00 per year
