*You are required to hold a cat D (PCV - bus license) to apply for this role.
AccessBus is a pre-bookable door to door bus service operated by TLC Travel Ltd contracted on contract to West Yorkshire Combined Authority. The service is available to the general public to pre-book journeys for shopping and other social occasions subject to availability. The service is free to use for ENCTS pass holders. The service operates from 0900 to 1700 Monday to Sunday with some evening journeys for specific groups.
Drivers are provided with a pickup and drop off schedule which must be strictly adhered to although drivers have some discretion on routes. Most buses currently have established routes on specific days therefore availability for additional journeys is limited. Buses have a capacity for 15 passengers plus 2 wheelchairs although due to COVID there are currently restricted to 11 passengers per journey.
Additional duties include;
Assisting passengers to and from their homes onto the bus.
Help to carry shopping and ensure bags are securely stored within the bus.
Assist passengers secure seatbelts and secure wheelchairs using equipment provided.
Hours of work are 0815 to 1730 with a 45 minute meal break, any 5 from 7 Monday to Sunday.
We welcome job share or applications for part-time although weekend working will be expected. Sundays are currently not available to passengers due to COVID although they will be re-introduced at a date yet to be decided.
Drivers are paid a daily rate as often journeys are cancelled on the day allowing drivers to finish earlier than scheduled subject to supervisors discretion.
