Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our dedicated Stroke Unit team.
Our 36-bed Stroke Unit provides specialist care within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team environment, including six Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) beds delivering level 2 care. We provide rapid assessment and treatment for patients admitted directly from the Emergency Department, including thrombolysis and co-ordination of mechanical thrombectomy where required.
Following the acute phase of treatment, we support patients through their rehabilitation journey, delivering ongoing care on the ward and, where appropriate, facilitating a seamless transition to community-based rehabilitation through our Early Supported Discharge team. We are committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred stroke care from admission through to recovery.
Provide excellent, patient-centered care to stroke patients including administering medications, managing treatments and providing emotional support to patients and families.
Contribute to and collaborate with the MDT to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Monitor and assess patients' conditions, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
Deliver rehabilitation and supportive care to stroke patients both on the ward and as part of the Early Supported Discharge team.
Participate in the ongoing development of the Stroke Unit, maintaining high standards.
