Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, responsible for assisting with landscape maintenance, construction projects, and general site upkeep. Duties
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, and turf care
- Operate hand tools such as spades, rakes, and shovels to prepare sites for planting or construction
- Use power tools and machinery including excavators, irrigation systems, and other equipment for site development
- Support with excavation activities and site preparation for construction or landscaping projects
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Assist with the installation and repair of irrigation systems
- Help with the transportation of materials around the site using appropriate equipment
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
Skills
- Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools and machinery such as excavators
- Proficiency with hand tools used in construction and gardening tasks
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and repair processes
- Construction experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is important
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy loads safely
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with a proactive attitude
