Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class 1 HGV Driver (Tramper) to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a heavy goods vehicle on container work. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 1 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) with flatbed trailers for long-distance deliveries
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safety and compliance
- Load, secure, and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety protocols
- Plan delivery routes effectively, considering traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs, delivery notes, and compliance paperwork
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding route updates or issues encountered during transit
- Follow all road safety regulations and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on flatbed or similar heavy vehicle operations
- Demonstrated ability to handle long-distance driving schedules responsibly and safely
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with a strong understanding of route planning and cargo securing techniques
- Knowledge of relevant transportation regulations and compliance standards for heavy goods vehicles
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving license with no serious endorsements or restrictions
- Familiarity with operating flatbed trailers and securing various types of cargo effectively
