Parts Advisor – After Sales
We’re looking for a motivated, customer-focused individual to join our After Sales team as Parts Advisor. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers needing parts — handling enquiries, processing orders, and seeing them through from picking and packing all the way to booking the delivery.
Who are we?
Passenger Lift Solutions; the UK’s leading passenger lift manufacturer. Our products help people with mobility needs to access everything from taxis to minibuses, and even boats!
We’re an energetic company that continues to grow and we’re always looking for the next challenge. Over 50 members of staff across all departments. Producing over 1,200 lifts each year and supporting over 3,000 existing products out in the world.
You will be a member of our After Sales Team at our Smethwick facility, working in close conjunction with various areas of the business. You’ll work closely with other members of the After Sales team who deal with support, parts sales, servicing and more.
What you’ll be doing
- Customer Enquiries & Order Handling: Be the friendly, knowledgeable first point of contact for customers reaching out by phone, email, and our web shop. You’ll understand what they need, identify the right parts, and manage their order from start to finish.
- Pick, Packing, and Dispatching: Accurately pick, pack, and dispatch orders to customers, ensuring all shipments meet our quality standards and are delivered on schedule.
- Marshalling Parts Stores: Manage and organise the After Sales parts stores area, ensuring it is well-maintained, efficiently organised, and fully stocked to meet customer demands; this is a part shop that you’ll run like your own business.
- Warranty Parts Support: Help our Customer Support Team by shipping out parts to support warranty repairs, and receive defective goods back, ensuring they are processed in line with our processes so that faulty components are properly analysed by your colleagues.
What will make you a good candidate?
- At least 2 years’ experience in a parts, customer service, or warehousing role is preferred. Don’t worry if you don’t know anything about lifts or vehicles, we can teach you that.
- Confident with IT systems. You’ll be working across our order management and inventory software to process customer orders and maintain accurate stock records. Experience with an accounting, ERP or parts management system is a bonus, though full training will be provided on our specific tools.
- Great organisational skills. There can be a lot happening here at any given moment and nothing can afford to slip through the gaps. Day-to-day you won’t be micromanaged, so you need to be able to structure your workload independently.
- Good written and verbal communication skills — you’ll be talking to customers regularly, so a friendly, professional manner is a must.
- A motivated, forward-thinking, and ambitious personality with a desire to make a difference and be part of a growing business.
- Be a nice person to work with.
Physical requirements
While a big part of this role is customer-facing, you’ll also be hands-on in the parts store picking, packing, and dispatching orders, so you’ll be on your feet regularly and comfortable lifting and moving parts and packages following safe manual handling practices.
