The Role
As a Key Person, you will play a vital role in the formative years of the children in your care. You will combine your knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with your natural creativity to build an environment where children feel safe, included, excited to learn, and ready to explore.
Key Responsibilities
● Key Person System: Manage a dedicated key group of children, providing attentive,
nurturing care while observing, tracking, and documenting their unique developmental milestones.
● Creative Learning: Plan and execute imaginative, age-appropriate activities that
stimulate children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
● Enriched Environments: Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and beautifully welcoming
room environment for children, parents, and colleagues alike.
● Parent & Team Partnership: Build strong, communicative relationships with families to bridge the gap between home and nursery, while collaborating daily with a supportive staff team.
● Safeguarding Excellence: Strictly adhere to all safeguarding and child protection
policies, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all children remains the top
priority.
Regulatory & Essential Requirements
To fulfill our regulatory obligations under Ofsted guidelines, candidates must meet the following:
● Qualifications: Hold a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ
Level 3, Early Years Educator, or equivalent). Candidates with a strong Level 2
qualification who are actively working towards their Level 3 are also welcome to apply.
● Safeguarding Compliance: A clean, Enhanced DBS check is required. Flower Pots
Day Nursery will fully facilitate and fund this process upon employment.
● EYFS Knowledge: A solid baseline understanding of safeguarding procedures, health
and safety, and early childhood development frameworks.
