Overview
This role involves carrying out daily inspections of static plant, reporting defects, maintaining site equipment, and assisting with routine maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the site. Responsibilities also include site housekeeping, assembling and dismantling equipment, operating plant machinery once trained, washing out weighbridges, and monitoring conveyor belt tracking.
Duties
Assist with the preparation and clearing of construction sites, ensuring all areas are safe and ready for work.
Help with loading, unloading, and organizing materials and equipment to maintain efficient workflow.
Support skilled tradespeople by holding tools, fetching supplies, and assisting with minor tasks as directed.
Follow safety protocols diligently, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
Participate in site clean-up activities to keep the work area tidy and hazard-free.
Assist with setting up scaffolding, barriers, and signage to ensure site safety standards are met.
Perform general labour tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying materials, and assisting with concrete or other foundational work.
Qualifications
Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card demonstrating current health and safety training.
Previous experience working as a labourer or in a construction environment is preferred but not essential; willingness to learn is key.
Strong physical fitness with the ability to perform manual handling tasks throughout the day.
Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards safety and quality standards.
Basic understanding of construction site procedures and safety regulations.
Reliable, punctual, and eager to contribute positively within a team setting.
Ability to follow instructions carefully while maintaining high attention to detail.
