We’re looking for approachable, energetic Rangers who love the outdoors and are great with people to help support our Park and Golf Course operations.
PURPOSE
The Ranger is responsible for supporting the safe, secure, and efficient day-to-day operation of the golf course, while delivering excellent customer service to all visitors.
The role provides a visible on-site presence, supports revenue protection through golf ticket checks, assists with golf operations, and helps maintain high presentation standards across the site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Site Management
- Maintain a visible on-site presence during operational hours.
- Support the safe, clean, and secure operation of the golf course.
- Assist with opening and closing operational duties where required.
- Monitor course activity and manage busy periods to improve golfer flow and customer experience.
- Report maintenance issues, damage, defects, or anti-social behaviour promptly.
Customer Service & Visitor Support
- Be approachable and available to assist visitors across the site.
- Provide information, guidance, and wayfinding support to visitors.
- Resolve customer queries where possible or escalate appropriately.
- Promote a positive image of the park and wider organisation at all times.
- Support delivery of an excellent visitor experience across the park and golf course.
- Encourage respectful use of facilities and adherence to site rules.
- Deliver on-course sales of golf shop products and refreshments.
Revenue Protection & Course Monitoring
- Patrol access points and monitor unauthorised entry onto the golf course.
- Conduct professional, regular golf ticket and booking checks to ensure proof of payment.
- Support operational plans designed to reduce unpaid golf activity and protect course assets.
- Escalate incidents involving refusal to comply or aggressive behaviour.
- Support recording and reporting of outcomes.
Grounds, Equipment & Presentation
- Assist with litter picking, cleanliness, and general site presentation.
- Support preparation and storage of golf buggies and operational equipment.
- Operate machinery and equipment safely where trained and authorised.
- Carry out basic equipment safety checks and report faults immediately.
- Support environmental and sustainability initiatives across the site.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Health & Safety, fire, and emergency procedures.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times.
- Use PPE and company uniform correctly.
- Report hazards, accidents, equipment defects, and security incidents promptly.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and incident reports where required.
- Maintain a visible presence and use professional, non-confrontational communication at all times.
- Follow agreed operational procedures and escalation routes for customer interactions.
- Immediately report any incidents involving abusive, threatening, or unsafe behaviour using agreed reporting procedures.
- Carry and use communication devices (radio/mobile) during patrols and maintain contact with the Duty Manager or operations team.
- Remain aware of environmental hazards including uneven ground, golf play areas, machinery movement and adverse weather conditions.

- First Aid qualification
- Knowledge of golf operations and etiquette
- Experience in security or revenue protection environments
Working Conditions
- Outdoor, site-based role
- Weekend and flexible working required
- May involve split shifts and peak-period working
- The role includes independent working, with appropriate support, procedures and communication systems in place to ensure you can work safely and confidently.
- Active role involving regular walking and patrols across the site
This role is offered on a zero-hours contract, with regular weekly hours available. We are recruiting a small team to cover the role on a rotating basis. Successful candidates can expect a fair rotating rota, with shifts shared between early and later finishes and different weekday allocations, in line with operational requirements.
Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per year
