Total Building Control Ltd, a Registered Building Control Approver, have an exciting opportunity for a part-time administrator to join our friendly team based at our office in Bath. The ideal candidate will have an interest in the construction industry (although not required), great attention to detail and a confident telephone manner. This role would ideally suit someone who is driven and flexible with a proactive outlook.
The role is varied, reporting directly to the Office Manager and working with the office team and Registered Building Inspectors to provide a comprehensive service to our clients.
The ideal candidate will have some office experience and customer service skills, be reliable, and conscientious while displaying common sense and flexibility, but the most essential quality is enthusiasm to learn.
The role will involve:
- Receiving and making telephone calls - confident telephone manner providing assistance for new and ongoing projects
- Supporting day-to-day activities as required
- Inputting and updating details on the database
- Email and telephone communications with customers and clients
- Managing electronic diaries
- Liaising with our Registered Building Inspectors
- Producing and sending fee quotes
- Processing card payments
- Processing applications - inputting and updating details on our database
Skills required:
- Good working attitude, positive approach and flexibility
- Excellent communication skills with a clear, confident telephone manner
- IT skills - Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word)
- Attention to detail
Experience:
- Basic office experience and/or experience in the Building Control sector is desirable, but the ability to use Outlook, Word and IT systems is essential.

The role is part time, Monday to Wednesday 09:00 – 17:00.

- Salary - £15,600 - (may increase depending on experience)
- Annual Company Bonus - pro rata - (may be paid annually, subject to business performance factors at the time)

- 20 days annual leave - pro rata - (increases by 1 for each year of service to a maximum of 25) plus Bank Holidays.
