What does the maintenance team do?
At UK Rigging, our maintenance team covers everything from the everyday fixes to major internal builds. We need someone versatile, practical, and ready to roll up their sleeves. On any given day, you’ll be shifting between reactive troubleshooting, hands-on construction, and keeping the whole operation organized and moving forward.
The duties of the maintenance team include:
· Reactive Maintenance: Responding to requests for help across the premises, whether it’s a leaky shower basin, a broken window blind or building new furniture.
· Planned Maintenance: Internal projects include building new spaces such as meeting rooms, mezzanine floors, toilet blocks and whatever else the company requires.
· Equipment Maintenance: Helping to repair damaged equipment or build new custom items.
· Manual Handling: Lifting, moving and transporting tools, equipment and resources wherever they are needed.
· Running Errands: Picking up orders for tools, paint, fixings or whatever else is required.
· Work Area Management: Maintaining an organized, tidy, and safe work space.
Do you have the right skills and mindset?
· Mechanical Aptitude: You enjoy understanding how things work and have experience using tools to maintain and repair equipment.
· Technical Accuracy: You have a sharp eye for detail and take pride in a job well done.
· Manual Dexterity: You have the "hands-on" skills required to handle a wide range of tasks.
· Physical Stamina: You are comfortable being on your feet most of the day, with heavy lifting and the manual work involved in daily maintenance tasks.
· Professional Responsibility: You can be trusted to complete solo maintenance tasks and keep yourself busy on quiet days.
· Team Player: You enjoy helping others and working hard within a team to achieve shared goals.
This role is available at two levels, depending on your experience:
Assistant Level: You have solid hands-on experience using tools and handling manual work (e.g., site work or labouring).
Coordinator Level: You bring a higher level of responsibility and a specific trade under your belt, such as plumbing, joinery, or similar.
