Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated School Cleaner to maintain a clean and hygienic environment within our educational facility. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that classrooms, corridors, and communal areas are kept in pristine condition, supporting a safe and welcoming atmosphere for students and staff alike. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the school community through diligent cleaning practices.
We are an APSCo Member and all candidates must pass full screening and vetting.
Duties
- Clean and disinfect classrooms, hallways, toilets, and other communal areas regularly to ensure high standards of hygiene.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces as required throughout the school premises.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly, ensuring recycling protocols are followed where applicable.
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain organised storage of cleaning supplies and equipment for efficiency and safety.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Good time management skills to complete daily cleaning schedules efficiently.
- Reliable with a professional attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards within an educational environment.
- Ability to work flexibly during scheduled hours, including early mornings or after school hours if required.
Pay: From £14.00 per hour
Experience:
- cleaning: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Enhanced DBS (preferred)
- Drivers License (preferred)
