About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) and Solar PV Surveyor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out detailed property surveys, assessing suitability for renewable energy measures, and producing accurate technical information to support installations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong practical and technical knowledge of ASHP and Solar PV systems, particularly within domestic retrofit and energy-efficiency projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out domestic property surveys for Air Source Heat Pumps and Solar PV systems.
- Assess properties for suitability, including heating systems, insulation, electrical supply, roof condition and available space.
- Complete accurate site surveys, measurements and photographs.
- Identify suitable locations for ASHP external units, cylinders, pipework and associated equipment.
- Assess roofs for Solar PV suitability, including roof type, orientation, shading and available installation area.
- Gather all information required for accurate system design and installation.
- Prepare detailed survey reports and upload required evidence to relevant platforms.
- Identify potential installation issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Liaise with customers, installers, designers and project managers.
- Ensure surveys comply with relevant Building Regulations, MCS, PAS and industry requirements.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, documentation and customer service.
Requirements
Essential:
- Previous experience surveying Air Source Heat Pump and/or Solar PV installations.
- Strong understanding of domestic heating systems and renewable technologies.
- Experience working within MCS, PAS 2035/2030 or ECO/retrofit environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to understand technical drawings and system requirements.
- Good knowledge of domestic properties and construction.
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate report writing.
- Good communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to properties across the region.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA).
- Retrofit Assessor qualification.
- Heat Pump qualification/experience.
- Solar PV/MCS experience.
- Relevant electrical, heating or renewable energy qualifications.
