Toilet Cleaning Operative (Public Toilets & Council Facilities)
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable Toilet Cleaning Operative to maintain high standards of cleanliness across the council's public conveniences and depot offices.
This role involves travelling between multiple sites using a council vehicle, so a full UK driving licence is essential. You will often work independently and must be confident in managing your workload while keeping in regular contact with supervisors and the wider team.
Full training and induction will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain public toilets and council depot offices to a high standard
- Travel between assigned sites using a small council van
- Ensure cleaning tasks are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule
- Replenish cleaning products and consumables where required
- Report maintenance issues, damage or hazards to supervisors
- Maintain communication with the office and cleaning team
- Follow all health and safety procedures and cleaning protocols
- Ensure facilities remain clean, hygienic and safe for public use
Requirements
Essential
- Full UK driving licence (required to drive council vehicle)
- Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites
- Good communication skills to keep in contact with supervisors and team members
- Reliable and able to maintain high cleaning standards
- Willingness to complete a driving assessment as part of induction
Desirable
- Previous experience in cleaning or facilities services
- Experience working within the public sector or local authority environments
