Job Introduction
Location: Local community (home visits & phone calls)
Time commitment: 1–2 hours per week
Role type: Voluntary (unpaid)
Could you spare 30 minutes to an hour to brighten someone’s day?
As a Volunteer Befriender, you’ll provide regular face-to-face visits or friendly phone calls to people who are feeling lonely or socially isolated. Your time, conversation, and companionship can make a huge difference to someone’s wellbeing.
Visit an older person in their home or offer regular friendly calls
Provide conversation, company, and a listening ear
Help reduce loneliness and build meaningful connections
Full training before you start
Ongoing support from a dedicated Friendship Coordinator

Ability to provide two character references
Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check
