Dulwich Village Kids Club is seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our after school club team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with children in a vibrant, supportive environment. Successful candidates will be responsible for engaging children in a variety of activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering a positive atmosphere. This paid position is ideal for those passionate about childcare, teaching, or working with young people, and who enjoy creating fun and educational experiences for children after school hours.
Duties
- Supervise and engage children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Organise and facilitate a range of activities including games, arts and crafts, and educational exercises
- Support children's social development by encouraging positive interactions and behaviour
- Assist with meal times and snack preparation as required
- Maintain a clean and organised environment within the club area
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress or concerns
- Support the making and implementation of the club's policies and procedures, including safeguarding protocols
Qualifications/Essential qualities
- Previous experience working with children aged 4-8 in a play environment
- A level 3 qualification in relation to play or childcare
- Fluency in English is essential with good spelling and grammer.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children of various ages
- Ability to work flexibly during after school hours in accordance with the club’s schedule
- A 12 hour Paediactric first aid qualification
- Safeguardng and lead safeguarding qualifications and Training
- A clean current DBS
- Excellent behaviour management stratergies.
