Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Pay Rate: £17.81 - £21.55 per hour (dependant on experience & qualifications)

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom, supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 while working alongside experienced teaching staff in supportive school environments.
Job Description:
As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Responsibilities may include:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons in the teacher’s absence.
- Supporting pupils in EYFS, KS1 or KS2 to achieve their learning goals.
- Leading small group interventions and providing targeted support.
- Working alongside teachers to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
- Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities.
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement.
- Assisting with classroom organisation and day-to-day learning activities.
Essential:
- Minimum Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or HLTA qualification (or equivalent).
- Professional experience working with children within an educational setting.
- A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate for the Child Workforce registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Strong knowledge and confidence supporting the EYFS, KS1 or KS2 curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, enthusiastic and proactive approach.
- Ability to reliably commute to schools across Wigan and the surrounding areas.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering whole-class lessons.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Flexibility to work across different year groups and school settings.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
