Job Summary
We are seeking one or two motivated and energetic Kitchen Porter/Food Packing Assistants to join our team. The work hours can be on either or both Friday 9am-3pm/10am-4pm and/or Saturday 9am-3pm/10am-4pm so are suitable for employees with childcare responsibilities or employees who want to earn extra money on top of a weekly job or students looking for a weekend job opportunity.
In this vital role, you will support the smooth operation of our business by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring that all food packing tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards. Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients to support our food preparation staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing work surfaces, and disposing of waste in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Support food packing operations by accurately packaging prepared items for delivery or storage, ensuring proper labeling and presentation.
- Help keep storage areas organized and stock levels maintained by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies.
- Follow all safety guidelines related to food handling, hygiene, and equipment operation to ensure a safe working environment.
- Contribute positively to team efforts by communicating effectively and maintaining a proactive attitude
- Qualifications
- Prior experience in a kitchen environment, cafe, butchery or deli counter setting is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety procedures
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting moderate loads, and bending or kneeling as required
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and organization
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation processes and food safety standards

Pay: £12.75-£13.65 per hour
