This is a rewarding opportunity for a confident, resilient, and person-centred professional who is passionate about enabling people to live fulfilling and independent lives. The gentleman we support has autism and can, at times, present behaviours that challenge services. We are therefore seeking a skilled leader with experience supporting individuals with complex needs and a commitment to delivering high-quality, positive behavioural support.
About the Role
As Service Leader, you will provide hands-on support while leading and developing a small team to deliver exceptional, person-centred care. You will be responsible for ensuring the service is safe, responsive, and focused on achieving positive outcomes for the individual we support.

- Provide direct support to a gentleman with autism and complex support needs.
- Promote independence, choice, and community inclusion.
- Develop, implement, and review person-centred support plans and risk assessments.
- Ensure positive behaviour support strategies are followed consistently.
- Liaise effectively with family members, health professionals, and external agencies.
- Manage staffing, rotas, supervision, and performance development.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, CQC requirements, and organisational policies.
- Participate in the on-call rota as required.
- Work flexibly across a 7-day rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins where necessary.
Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism.
- Experience supporting individuals who may display behaviours that challenge services.
- Current Breakaway Training (or willingness to refresh immediately upon appointment).
- Previous experience in a senior support worker, team leader, or supervisory role.
- A strong understanding of person-centred support and positive behaviour support approaches.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional in challenging situations.
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
Desirable
- Experience within Supported Living services.
- Knowledge of autism-specific support approaches.
- Experience preparing for or working within CQC-regulated services.
- Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management (or willingness to work towards).
