Knight Precision Engineering Limited is a well-established, family-run engineering business based in Hutton, Brentwood, with 31 years of experience in the industry.
We are looking for an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Operator to join our small and friendly team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in producing quality work and wants to become an important part of an established family business.
The Role
Working across two CNC milling machines, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating the machines to produce accurate, high-quality components.
The role will include:
- Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
- Programming using Siemens 828D with ShopMill
- Working from engineering drawings and specifications
- Selecting suitable tooling and cutting conditions
- Setting and proving jobs and making adjustments where required
- Inspecting your own work to ensure quality and accuracy
- Managing your own workload and working to deadlines
- Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
- Working independently while being part of a small team
About You
We are looking for someone with solid, hands-on experience in CNC milling who can confidently manage a job from programming through to finished component.
You should have:
- Proven experience as a CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator
- Good experience with Siemens 828D ShopMill
- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines
- Good knowledge of tooling, speeds and feeds
- A high level of attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and self-manage your workload
- A reliable, practical and professional approach to your work
Experience with exotic or particularly difficult-to-machine materials is not required. Our work is predominantly with standard engineering materials.
