Progress Teachers are currently recruiting for dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support a range of primary schools across Derbyshire, predominately in the following post codes, DE11, DE12, DE13 and DE14
Our partner schools require skilled, compassionate staff who can support pupils with a variety of SEN & SEMH needs, and this is the perfect opportunity for those professionals who are looking for long-term or permanent positions in settings dedicated to bringing out the very best in each pupil.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex needs to ensure they can access learning effectively.
- Implement personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies in line with school policies.
- Assist the class teacher(s) in adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning styles.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, social skills, and communication development.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
Requirements
- Experience working with children with SEN and/or SEMH needs (school, care, or community settings considered).
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to behaviour and learning challenges.
- Ability to remain calm and solution-focused in challenging situations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, SEND training) are desirable but not essential.
- Must be willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check or already have one on the Update Service.

Pay: £92.60-£100.00 per day
