Depot Manager Manchester
Broughton Plant Hire & Sales is looking for an experienced Depot Manager with a strong background in the plant and tool hire industry to lead and manage our busy fast paced Manchester depot.
As market leaders in the hire of pipe press fitting tools, we provide specialist equipment to a wide range of customers across the mechanical, electrical, HVAC and fire protection sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced plant hire professional to join a growing business and play a key role in the continued success, development and growth of our Manchester depot.
Key Responsibilities
· Overall management of the depot and day-to-day operations.
· Lead, manage, motivate and develop the depot staff.
· Drive depot sales, revenue and profitability
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
· Manage the hire fleet, ensuring equipment is available, maintained, inspected and returned efficiently.
· Ensure customer requirements are dealt with promptly and equipment is supplied accurately and on time
· Maintain effective stock and asset control, including monitoring equipment movements, availability and condition.
· Coordinate deliveries, collections and transport requirements, working with drivers and the wider transport operation.
· Maintain high standards of Health & safety across the depot and ensure company procedures are followed.
· Liaising with head office and other depots to coordinate equipment, customers and operational requirements.
· Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers
· Continually look for ways to improve depot efficiency, customer service and overall performance.
What We’re Looking For
· Previous experience as a depot manager/Branch manager or similar management role
· Proven experience within the plant, tool or equipment hire industry
· Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, manage and develop a team.
· Good commercial awareness, with an understanding of how to drive depot revenue, control costs and maximise profitability
· Excellent customer service and communication skills with experience managing deliveries, collections, equipment and customer requirements.
· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
· A strong understanding of health and safety and the importance of maintaining high standards within a depot.
· The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business.
· Experience within the mechanical, electrical, HVAC or fire protection sectors would be an advantage

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
