Travel Consultancy Role
Interrailing Packages Ltd is recruiting a Sales Advisor to join our established team in the Armagh area. This is a customer-facing commercial role for a capable, organised person who can handle enquiries properly, write clearly, and help customers move from interest to a well-planned booking. The successful candidate will work in a modern, fast-growing travel business with direct input into day-to-day improvements, product development, and the wider direction of the company.
Role Overview
The Sales Advisor will be part of an experienced team and will report directly to the line manager. Clear targets and team goals will be set from the outset, with support, structure, and accountability built into the role.
The position combines autonomy with teamwork. You will be trusted to manage your own workload, think clearly, and respond efficiently, while also contributing as part of an open-plan office team.
The working environment is practical and focused: a quiet countryside office location with free parking, minimal traffic, and a setting suited to concentrated work.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle customer enquiries by email, telephone, online meetings, and face-to-face appointments.
- Use product knowledge and sound judgement to help build rail itineraries and travel proposals that match each customer's needs, expectations, and budget.
- Prepare accurate quotations and follow enquiries through a structured sales process.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, with particular attention to grammar, tone, and accuracy in written communication.
- Work towards individual targets and wider team goals, with performance measured in a clear and structured way.
- Maintain organised records and update company systems accurately.
- Contribute ideas at staff meetings on immediate operational improvements, customer experience, product development, and wider company direction.
- Support the wider business as required in a growing team environment
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone efficient, educated, hard-working, and commercially aware. This role will suit a person who takes standards seriously, thinks for themselves, and wants to make a genuine contribution in a local business that is growing with purpose.
The right candidate will be comfortable dealing with customers directly, capable of working without constant supervision, and able to contribute useful ideas rather than simply following process.
Essential Requirements
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Strong written English, including accurate grammar, spelling, and clear email communication.
- Confidence in speaking with customers by phone, online, and in person.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage work independently.
- Comfort working to targets, team goals, and performance expectations.
- Competence in email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Canva, and website-related software.
- Professional judgement, reliability, and a consistent work ethic.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in travel, tourism, or a customer-facing sales role.
- Knowledge of European travel, itinerary planning, or rail-based travel products.
- Experience using digital content, web systems, or design tools in a business setting.
What the role offers
- A valued position within an established and fast-growing tour operator.
- Direct reporting lines, clear expectations, and experienced colleagues who will support development over time.
- A role with real influence, where staff can contribute ideas that shape both immediate improvements and the longer-term direction of the company.
- A quiet countryside office environment with free parking and a straightforward daily commute.
- An open-plan team setting with scope for progression as the company continues to grow.
- Full-time preferred; part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate.
