We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join our new small independent school supporting young people who have struggled in mainstream education.
Our school provides a safe, relational environment for up to 32 pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, neurodivergence, and emotionally based school avoidance.
You will help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn, supporting and leading lessons, building strong relationships, and responding calmly to challenges using a trauma-informed approach.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is calm, patient and emotionally attuned
- Builds strong, trusting relationships with young people
- Understands that behaviour communicates need
- Is confident supporting learning and small group activities
- Enjoys active, outdoor and practical learning
- Works positively as part of a team
Experience working within SEMH, SEND, alternative provision, youth work, or care settings is desirable but not essential.
