Year 7 Teaching Assistant - Formal Curriculum

Glow Educate is working with a specialist SEND school in Wiltshire looking for a Teaching Assistant to join its Year 7 Formal Curriculum class this September.
This class follows a more formal, subject-based curriculum than some of the school's other pathways, while still providing the specialist support pupils need to thrive. Alongside academic learning, you'll help develop communication, independence, personal and social skills, ensuring every pupil is supported to achieve their individual potential.
The role
- Supporting pupils in a Year 7 Formal Curriculum class
- Providing classroom, small group and 1:1 support where required
- Helping pupils access learning across a range of curriculum subjects
- Supporting the development of communication, independence and life skills
- Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and social development
- Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide consistent support
- Building positive relationships that enable pupils to thrive both academically and personally

- Have experience working with children or young people in a school, SEND, care or youth work setting
- Enjoy supporting learning within a structured classroom environment
- Are patient, resilient and adaptable
- Can build positive relationships with young people and colleagues
- Are passionate about helping every child achieve their individual potential
- Are keen to develop your knowledge and experience within specialist education
This is a full-time, five-day-a-week position starting in September, with the opportunity to move from temporary to permanent for the right candidate.
