Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced UK & European Van Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods across the UK and Europe, ensuring timely and safe transportation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving, warehouse operations, or delivery services to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment. The position requires a professional attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage heavy lifting tasks when necessary.
Duties
- Safely operate company vans across designated UK and European routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Plan efficient delivery routes to meet deadlines and optimise fuel consumption.
- Load and unload goods, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secure during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules or issues.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys to ensure roadworthiness.
- Assist with warehouse duties when not on deliveries, including stock organisation and inventory management.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods professionally and courteously.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to minimise downtime.
Experience
- Proven delivery driver experience within the UK and European markets.
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving or logistics is highly desirable.
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous, especially involving heavy lifting tasks.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with route planning software or GPS systems is beneficial but not essential.
