Overview
We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Self Employed Seamstress to work from home . This role offers the flexibility of working independently on bespoke sewing projects, alterations, and custom-made garments. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines. As a self-employed professional, you will have the opportunity to manage your own schedule while contributing to a variety of sewing and tailoring tasks.
Responsibilities
- Create customised garments, alterations, and repairs according to client specification
- Select appropriate fabrics and materials for each project
- Operate sewing machines and other relevant equipment efficiently and safely
- Maintain a clean and organised works
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding project progress and any adjustments needed
- Manage your own appointments, workload, and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of all projects
- Keep up-to-date with the latest sewing techniques, trends, and industry standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a seamstress or tailor with a strong portfolio of completed work
- Proficiency in operating various sewing machines and related tools
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship
- Ability to interpret designs and patterns accurately
- Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients about their requirements
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of different fabrics, textiles, and sewing techniques is desirable
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in dressmaking or tailoring are advantageous

Pay: £12.21-£30.00 per hour
