Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and decorating, with a keen eye for detail and a flair for artistic presentation. This role involves transforming freshly baked cakes into visually stunning masterpieces that delight our customers. Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes according to customer specifications, including intricate designs and themed decorations
- Prepare cake surfaces with icing, fondant, and other decorative elements
- Ensure all decorations are applied accurately and efficiently while maintaining visual appeal
- Assist in the preparation of cake batter, fillings, and icings as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the decorating area in compliance with food safety standards
- Collaborate with the baking team to ensure timely completion of orders
- Keep up-to-date with current cake decorating trends and techniques to continuously enhance skills
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or culinary arts, preferably within a bakery or restaurant environment
- Strong skills in baking, cake decorating, and food safety practices
- Knowledge of various decorating techniques including piping, moulding, and colour application
- Experience with kitchen equipment used for baking and decorating
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Previous restaurant or bakery experience is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key

Pay: £12.71 per hour
