We're looking for a friendly, reliable Bank Catering Assistant to join our school kitchen team.
This is a flexible bank role providing additional support during busy periods, staff absence and increased demand. Although we can't guarantee hours, we anticipate there will be regular opportunities to work, typically around 4 hours per day, making this an ideal role for someone looking for flexible employment that fits around family life, another job or retirement.
You'll be joining a welcoming team preparing healthy school meals for our children each day.
What you'll be doing
Working alongside our Kitchen Manager and catering team, you'll help to:
- Prepare fresh ingredients and assist with meal preparation
- Set up serving counters ready for lunchtime service
- Serve meals to children in a friendly and efficient manner
- Wash, clean and tidy kitchen equipment and work areas
- Help maintain excellent food hygiene standards
- Store food safely and assist with stock and deliveries
- Support the smooth running of our busy school kitchen.
We're looking for someone who is:

- Takes pride in keeping work areas clean and organised
- Happy following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Flexible and willing to help wherever needed.
Experience
Previous catering or kitchen experience would be helpful but isn't essential. If you're enthusiastic, enjoy working with people and are willing to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

Hours
This is a bank position, meaning there are no guaranteed weekly hours.
However, we expect there to be regular opportunities to work, typically around 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday during term time, depending on the needs of the school.
