Bearing Supplies (Norwich) Ltd is the largest independent supplier to the MRO market in East Anglia for bearings and power transmissions.
As the Technical Sales Advisor and Operations Support With Web Support, your role will be to support the existing in-house sales team whist looking for opportunities to grow our existing accounts and seek out new clients for the company. This role often includes deputising for the manager in their absence, as well as supporting them in their daily duties. Previous experience in a similar role is essential as well as Key holder responsibilities. You will also oversee the website sales, stock and changes.
MAIN DUTIES:
Technical Sales
- Multi-Channel Sales: Manage customer interactions face-to-face, via phone, email, and web chat.
- Requirement Analysis: Interpret customer requirements to recommend correct engineering components.
- Relationship Management: Research, establish, and maintain existing relationships with customers.
- External Sales: Conduct site visits to identify new business opportunities.
- Team Liaison: Work with sales and purchasing teams to align client needs.
- Sourcing Support: Assist purchasing activities with planned and ad-hoc sourcing.
- Digital Platforms: Maintain social media and online sales platforms.
Operations & Web Management
- Web Management: Maintain and update company websites via Shopify and WordPress.
- Marketplace Operations: Manage eBay listings, monitor item watch lists, and send targeted pricing offers.
- Market Intelligence: Keep up to date with competitor pricing to maintain market edge.
- Logistics Support: Support warehouse and transport teams with stock management and deliveries.
- Process Optimization: Identify operational improvements and make recommendations for change.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Safety Standards: Ensure that health, safety, and fire regulations meet required standards.
- Staff Compliance: Ensure staff comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Professional Standards
- Brand Advocacy: Positively promote the company, always ensuring a professional image.
- Ad-hoc Duties: Undertake additional reasonable tasks requested by Managing Directors to support company success.
Requirements
- Industry Experience: Proven background in selling components or technical industrial products.
- Web Platforms: Hands-on experience managing products and content on Shopify and WordPress.
- E-commerce Skills: Experience managing eBay store listings, seller promotions, and competitive pricing analysis.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to read technical drawings or interpret complex engineering specifications.
- Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of workplace health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
- Logistics Awareness: Familiarity with warehouse workflows, inventory management, and transport logistics.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for face-to-face, phone, and digital client interactions.
- Mobility: Full driving, clean licence to undertake external site visits and customer meetings.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft programs especially Outlook and Excel. We have an Aptean / Merlin ERP system which is SQL based. Some knowledge is My SQL would be helpful but not essential.

Previous experience working in internal / external sales is a must. You will be required to, using our ERP system and reference catalogues, identify products for customers as well as support your colleagues do the same. A keen eye for detail is extremely important.
