About the role
72 Dental is a private practice entering its next phase of growth — and we're looking for someone to lead it day to day.
This is a senior, autonomous role reporting to our Clinical Director and Non-Clinical Director. You'll own operations, compliance, commercial performance and team culture across the existing practice. You'll also work alongside the Directors on the setup of a second practice currently in development, shaping the systems, processes and team structure before it opens.
If you've built or scaled a private practice before and want the scope to do it properly, this is that job.
What you'll own
Leadership and culture
- Set the tone for a team where accountability, learning and kindness genuinely coexist
- Coach and develop people across every role, clinical and non-clinical
- Make sure our values show up in how the team actually works, not just on the wall
Operations and compliance
- Run calm, coordinated daily operations across all departments
- Own compliance: CQC, HTM 01-05, GDC, Health & Safety, COSHH, employment law and UK GDPR
- Lead on data protection and cyber-security standards
- Oversee facilities, maintenance, service contracts and building safety
Commercial performance
- Track performance against budgets and KPIs, and turn the numbers into decisions
- Prepare management reports with clear recommendations for the Directors
- Manage procurement and keep spending disciplined and transparent
Patient experience and brand
- Protect the quality of every patient touchpoint
- Work with external marketing partners on patient attraction and brand positioning
- Handle feedback and complaints with a service-recovery mindset
People and development
- Recruit, retain and develop talent, with clear expectations and progression
- Run CPD programmes covering clinical skill, communication and leadership
- Manage HR processes fairly and transparently
What we're looking for
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' senior leadership experience in private dentistry
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams through growth and change
- Financial literacy — budgets, P&L and strategic KPIs
- Strong working knowledge of CQC, HR, GDPR and patient confidentiality
- Existing right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role)
Highly advantageous
- Experience setting up a squat practice, or comparable project management experience
- Experience embedding brand standards in a premium or private healthcare setting
The kind of person who does well here
Steady under pressure. Listens properly before acting. Connects operational choices to commercial outcomes. Embeds standards until they become second nature. Comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on problem solving in the same day.
What we offer
- £50,000 per year
- Annual performance bonus of up to £10,000, linked to delivery of agreed KPIs
- Company pension
- Private dental insurance
- Company events
- Direct access to, and influence with, the Directors
- The chance to shape a second practice from the ground up
