We are a 38-bed Nursing Home based in the heart of Kingswinford, close to all main bus routes. Our home has been providing high-quality care to elderly residents for over 30 years, and we are currently looking for kind, reliable and caring individuals to join our team.
We are recruiting for a Domestic Assistant
Shift Pattern
Working three 6 hour days through the week for a total of 18 hours a week.
This role includes working weekends and bank holidays as part of the rota.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily cleaning duties throughout the nursing home, including residents' bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, corridors and staff areas.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention in line with nursing home policies and procedures.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces, fixtures and equipment using appropriate cleaning products and methods.
- Follow cleaning schedules and ensure all required areas are cleaned to the expected standard.
- Dispose of waste safely and appropriately, following relevant infection control and health and safety procedures.
- Report any damage, maintenance issues, spillages or hazards to the appropriate senior staff member.
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and responsibly, following manufacturer instructions and COSHH requirements.
- Work respectfully around residents, maintaining their privacy, dignity and comfort while carrying out cleaning duties.
- Communicate effectively with care staff and other members of the team to ensure cleaning duties are completed without unnecessarily disrupting residents' routines or care.
- Respond promptly to any spills, accidents or urgent cleaning requirements.
- Support the nursing home in maintaining a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for residents, visitors and staff.

- Willingness to learn and follow the nursing home's policies and procedures.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
