Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures made of wood, metal, and other materials. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry principles, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work safely in various environments. The successful applicant will contribute to a range of projects including residential, commercial, and industrial builds, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install timber and other materials according to specifications
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and masonry tools as required
- Read technical drawings and blueprints to interpret project requirements
- Perform heavy lifting to manoeuvre materials safely into position
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing structures or fixtures
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
- Assist with roofing tasks when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, masonry or related trades
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and masonry tools
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Experience with commercial driving is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites
- Physical fitness to undertake manual labour tasks over extended periods
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or related fields are preferred but not mandatory
Candidates should be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. A commitment to quality workmanship and safety is essential for success in this role.
Pay: From £16.30 per hour
