Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional 3.5t Van Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring excellent customer service. This role requires a valid <PERSON> driver licence, strong communication skills, and experience in commercial driving. The ideal applicant will be organised, physically fit, and capable of handling heavy lifting when necessary. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment with a focus on punctuality and professionalism. You will be part of a 2 man team delivering to the room of choice with some furniture build which training will be provided.
Duties
- Safely operate a 3.5-tonne van to deliver goods to clients and suppliers in a timely manner
- Plan efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Load and unload items, including heavy or bulky goods, with proper handling techniques
- Ensure all deliveries are accurately documented and signed off by recipients
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies during driving duties
Experience
- Proven delivery driver experience, preferably within a commercial setting
- Valid <PERSON> driver licence with clean driving record
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of loading/unloading tasks
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Familiarity with driving regulations specific to commercial vehicles and local routes
