EduLink Recruitment are working with our partnered alternative provision to appoint a Mentor to work at their Southam site on a full time basis Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm term time only.
This role is to start September 3rd and is a permenant position with great opportunities for progression.
We are looking for a dedicated, resilient, and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor to join our Alternative Provision and Mentoring Site. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people aged 12–16 who require targeted intervention to re-engage with education, develop positive relationships, and achieve their potential.
Working with small groups and on a one-to-one basis, you will provide personalised pastoral support alongside the delivery of Maths, English, and vocational learning. You will play a key role in helping young people overcome barriers to learning, improve their confidence, and prepare for successful futures.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges.
- Deliver personalised pastoral support and mentoring programmes tailored to individual needs.
- Support the teaching and learning of functional Maths and English.
- Deliver or support engaging vocational learning opportunities.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, resilience, and personal development.
- Develop individual support plans and monitor progress towards agreed outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, external agencies, and colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
- Maintain accurate records, complete reports, and contribute to review meetings.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or those at risk of disengagement from education.
- Is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to succeed.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.
- Is confident delivering or supporting learning in Maths, English, and practical or vocational activities.
- Can motivate and inspire young people to re-engage with learning.
- Is organised, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Understands safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of maintaining professional boundaries.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with young people aged 12–16 in education, alternative provision, youth work, or a similar setting.
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own vehicle, as travel between sites and to support learners may be required.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
