About the Role
Brainbox Ltd is looking for a proactive and highly organised Technical Sales Administrator to join our team at our Cardiff Head Office. This is a critical frontline role designed to be the "engine room" of the Brainbox sales funnel. You will be the primary point of contact for all incoming enquiries, ensuring that every potential customer receives a rapid, professional, and helpful response.
The role focuses on the triage, validation, and qualification of leads generated via our website, direct quote requests, and international exhibitions. Working within our Zoho CRM system, you will be responsible for carrying out initial follow-ups and providing standard quotations, moving leads efficiently through the sales process. While you will bridge the gap between initial interest and our technical specialists, you will also have the autonomy to close sales independently where requirements are straightforward.
Key Responsibilities
The Technical Sales Administrator will drive the initial stages of the customer journey, as well as work with our existing administration team throughout the order fulfilment process to facilitate successful customer delivery. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Lead Triage & Validation: Acting as the first point of contact for enquiries from website forms, email, and exhibition data. You will validate leads to ensure they meet company criteria and quantify their potential value.
- Quotation Management: Preparing and issuing initial quotations based on customer requirements and standard pricing structures.
- Proactive Follow-up: Carrying out the initial follow-up on issued quotations to gauge interest and address basic commercial questions.
- Sales Closing: Independently closing sales where customer requirements are fully met by the initial quote and no further specialist input is required.
- Coordination & Handover: Ensuring a seamless handover of qualified, complex leads to our Product Specialists in the Customer Support team, providing them with a clear brief of the customer’s needs.
- CRM Management: Expertly maintaining and updating the Zoho CRM system to ensure all lead data is accurate, up-to-date, and actionable for the wider team.
- Administration Support: Assisting the rest of the administration team in completing the order process, tracking progress and coordinating logistics when required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: A degree in a business, communications, or science-related field is preferred, though relevant experience is highly valued.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport with a diverse international client base.
- Commercial Awareness: Understanding of sales cycles and the ability to identify high-value opportunities.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Zoho CRM (or a similar major CRM platform) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to manage a high volume of enquiries with meticulous attention to detail.
- Technical Understanding: An ability to understand technical systems and their capabilities.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in sales administration, lead generation, or a B2B customer service role.
- An interest in neuroscience, medical devices, or life sciences.
- Language skills (additional to English) to support our global customer base.
What We Offer
- Flexible Working: We operate a 9-day fortnight, providing employees with every other Friday off.
- Global Impact: The chance to be a key player in a leading global neuroscience solutions provider.
- Head Office Hub: A central role based at our Head Office in Cardiff, working closely with leadership and technical teams.
