Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window Fitter, Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining windows and joinery within various building projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse sites, utilise a range of tools and techniques, and contribute to high-quality craftsmanship in the construction industry. Applicants should have relevant experience in carpentry and joinery. All our projects are very bespoke and require high levels of accuracy, airtight installation and regularly a good dose of uniquely taylored details. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to precision and safety in their work.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install windows, doors, and other joinery components according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to ensure accurate fitting.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently to complete installations.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
- Assist with site preparation, including surface preparation and minor repairs as required.
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical teams, or masons to coordinate tasks effectively.
- Maintain organisation of tools and materials on-site for efficiency and safety.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure standards are met or exceeded.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry or joinery within the construction industry.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans.
- Experience or familiarity with roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems or masonry is desirable but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices relevant to construction sites.
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Carpentry or Joinery are preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and follow detailed instructions accurately.
