Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Water Utility Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing water infrastructure, ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of water services. This role requires a practical individual with mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge, and experience with various tools and machinery. Duties
- Operate and maintain water utility equipment, including excavators and power tools, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Conduct excavation works for maintenance or installation of water pipelines and infrastructure.
- Perform welding tasks as required for pipe repairs or installations.
- Use hand tools and mechanical devices to repair, replace, or install components of the water system.
- Carry out electrical work related to water utility systems, adhering to safety standards.
- Inspect pipelines and related infrastructure for faults or leaks, performing necessary repairs or reporting issues.
- Assist with the installation of new water services, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Experience
- Previous experience working with excavators, welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools is highly desirable.
- CSCS Needed
- Confined Space Card Needed
- Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing or water systems is advantageous.
- Electrical experience or background in electrical systems relevant to utility operations is preferred.
- Practical understanding of safety procedures associated with excavation and utility maintenance work.
- Experience in the utilities sector or similar industrial environments will be considered an asset.
