Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester/Technician to join our friendly automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests and performing vehicle repairs , to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. We are a family business that has been in business for 40 years . This is a full time roll , working Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm ( 30 minute lunch break) . No weekend work , we believe in a healthy work /life balance . The applicant must have a full UK Driving license .
Duties
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal and safety requirements, ensuring vehicles meet the necessary standards before certification
- Perform vehicle diagnostics, using modern diagnostic computers and repair as required.
- Identify mechanical issues and advise customers on necessary repairs or replacements
- Assist with vehicle servicing, including oil changes, brake checks, timing belts ,wet belts and other routine maintenance. Clutch replacements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and test results in compliance with company procedures
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Assist in training junior staff or apprentices as needed
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years , Proven experience as an MOT Tester or Vehicle Technician within a professional garage or workshop environment
- Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
- Experience in vehicle diagnostic
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or components

Pay: £38,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
