About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, experienced and enthusiastic Team Leader to provide one-to-one support for a gentleman living with an Acquired Brain Injury. To lead, supervise and manage the team on behalf of the client, and assist in the provision of care and support to the client and the client's family, working as part of a team to achieve the required standards in accordance with the practices and procedures in the client’s Care Plan and Risk Assessments and any other guidance or documentation provided by the Care Manager.
This rewarding role focuses on promoting independence, encouraging meaningful activities, and supporting the client to live life to the fullest.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Understanding the need to promote independence and empowerment in a supportive way when providing care.
- Acting as advocate and liaising with Management.
- Involve the client and team members in the development and delivery of goals within the care plan. Providing support and guidance to your colleagues where suitable.
- To direct and manage the care team, and to act as a professional role model at all times.
- To communicate appropriate and relevant information to fellow care workers.
- Carry out all procedures relating to personal care and nutritional needs of the client.
- Plan, allocate and supervise the work of the care team, and produce monthly staff rotas. Organise and ensure cover for any gaps in the rota due to sickness, holidays, or other absences.
- Influence positive change within the team to improve standards of care and service and be the first point of call for the team for advice regarding care issues and day-to-day management of the needs of the client.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- A friendly, approachable, dependable and trustworthy individual
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Patient, observant, and compassionate
- A confident communicator with good written and verbal communication skills
- An experienced Team Leader
- In possession of a full UK driving licence and confident driving, including on motorways
- Registered with the DBS Update Service (desirable)
Working Hours
This role operates on a rota that includes weekdays and weekends (24hr shift).
Shift pattern:
- Day Shift: 08:00 – 20:00
- Sleep Shift: 20:00 – 08:00 (including waking night duties 20:00 - 22:30)
This is a non-smoking household; therefore, non-smokers are preferred.
