About this Role
Are you an experienced Service Controller, Fleet Controller, Service Coordinator or Fleet Administrator looking for your next challenge? Do you have a strong eye for detail and enjoy ensuring vehicles remain compliant, safe and operational?
As a Fleet Compliance Controller based in Brighouse, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating workshop, mobile engineer and third-party maintenance activity while ensuring our specialist municipal fleet remains fully compliant with legislative and company requirements.
Working closely with engineers, customers, suppliers and internal departments, you will oversee planned maintenance, inspections, MOTs and statutory compliance, ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards and documentation is accurate, complete and audit ready. You will be the central point of contact for fleet maintenance and compliance, helping to minimise vehicle downtime whilst supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily workshop, mobile engineer and third-party repair activity across a busy EMC service operation.

Schedule preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections, LOLER examinations, MOTs and other statutory compliance activities.

Monitor fleet compliance, ensuring maintenance schedules and legal inspections are completed within required timeframes.

Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection and compliance records across fleet management systems.

Track outstanding defects, repairs and compliance actions through to completion.

Ensure all vehicle documentation, certificates and service history are accurately recorded and readily available for audit purposes.

Liaise with customers, engineers, suppliers and operations teams to coordinate repairs and minimise vehicle downtime.

Monitor job progress, authorise updates where appropriate and escalate delays, risks or compliance concerns.

Raise purchase orders and process supplier invoices in line with company procedures.

Produce compliance and fleet performance reports for management.

Support investigations relating to maintenance history, defects and compliance queries.

Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, health & safety standards and regulatory requirements.
About You
You are highly organised, methodical and thrive in a fast-paced operational environment where attention to detail is critical. You enjoy coordinating multiple activities, communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
You understand the importance of fleet compliance and take pride in maintaining accurate records whilst delivering excellent customer service.

Experience within a fleet, service, transport, engineering or maintenance coordination environment.

Previous experience in a Service Controller, Fleet Controller, Fleet Compliance, Service Coordinator or similar role would be advantageous.

Understanding of vehicle maintenance planning and fleet compliance processes.

Knowledge of compliance requirements relating to commercial vehicles (such as MOTs, PMIs, LOLER inspections or operator licence compliance) would be beneficial, although training can be provided.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Confident communication skills with the ability to build relationships across customers, suppliers and internal teams.

Competent IT skills and experience using fleet management, service or maintenance systems.

A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
