Overview
We are seeking skilled Plater/Welders to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the fabrication and welding processes for structural steel buildings, with the ability to work effectively . This role is essential in ensuring that components are accurately assembled and finished to meet our high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble metal components according to specifications and drawings.
- Perform MIG welding and other welding techniques to ensure strong and durable joints.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and finishing metal parts.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and resolve any issues that arise.
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding, particularly MIG welding, is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience working with Mild steels and familiarity with various fabrication techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- To work to all current SSOW and RA's in line with the company's Health & Safety standards (ISO 450001)
- The ability to use Overhead cranes
Core Hours
Mon-Thurs 7:30-4:00pm (overtime 6:00am - 7:30 & 4:00pm - 6:00pm)
Fri - 7:30-3:00pm (overtime 6:00am - 7:30am)
Regular overtime is available and a reasonable amount is expected. Overtime all paid at time and half (£23.73)
Annual pay increases year on year
