Starting Salary £60k plus £5,500 car allowance, healthcare, 18% annual bonus potential, 27.5 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising with service and a company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution rates

Lead Operational Excellence at Royal Mail
We're looking for an experienced and inspiring leader to join Royal Mail as a Collections & Distribution Manager. In this pivotal role, you'll lead the performance of our collections and distribution operation across a defined geographical area, ensuring we deliver excellent service to our customers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational efficiency.
You'll play a key role in implementing regional and national priorities, leading transformational change, and developing high-performing teams that consistently deliver great results.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading collections and distribution operations across the region.
- Driving operational performance through effective planning, KPI management and continuous improvement.
- Managing and developing Distribution Managers and Collection Managers to build engaged, high-performing teams.
- Ensuring fleet, asset and operational compliance standards are maintained.
- Leading change initiatives that improve customer service, efficiency and business performance.
- Building strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and Trade Union representatives.
- Championing a culture of safety, accountability and customer focus across the operation.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a proven operational leader with experience in logistics, transport, distribution or a similarly complex environment.
You'll bring:
- Strong people leadership and coaching skills.
- Experience delivering results through operational performance management.
- The ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and resources.
- A customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering outstanding service.
- Knowledge of transport and operational compliance requirements.
A CPC qualification is desirable, or a willingness to achieve this within 12 months of appointment.
