Sales Consultant (Full-Time)
MCS Roofing & Cladding Ltd is a long-established manufacturer and supplier of roofing and cladding materials, serving customers across a wide range of building and construction projects. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Sales Consultant to join our friendly and supportive team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping customers, thrives in a varied role, and takes pride in delivering outstanding service. Previous experience within the building materials, roofing, or construction industry would be beneficial, but we are also keen to hear from motivated individuals who are eager to learn and develop their knowledge.
About the Role
As part of our sales team, you will play a key role in supporting customers from initial enquiry through to order completion. You'll work closely with colleagues, customers, and suppliers to ensure a smooth and efficient service while helping customers find the right products and solutions for their needs.
We're looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be approachable, patient, and committed to providing a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Responding to customer enquiries via telephone, email, website, and eBay.
- Assisting customers visiting our premises and providing product advice and quotations.
- Processing customer orders using Sage 50 Accounts software.
- Producing job cards for roofing sheet manufacture.
- Preparing flashing drawings and specifications for manufacture (training provided where required).
- Processing customer payments and generating invoices.
- Keeping customers informed of the progress of their orders.
- Liaising with suppliers regarding products, deliveries, and stock.
- Raising and sending purchase orders.
- Booking goods received from suppliers into the system.
- Supporting the wider team in delivering excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
- GCSE Mathematics (Grade C/Grade 4 or above) or equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience using Sage 50 Accounts software.
- Experience within the roofing, cladding, building materials, or construction industry.
- Experience using eBay Seller Hub or a willingness to learn.
- Previous sales or customer service experience.
